Recently bought this ABX-55 (released in 1995) for around 13$. Almost killed it after I opened it to clean the gasket and give it a rinse with water and soap in the sink. Some buttons were a bit stuck and didn't press well and I think that's where the water infiltrated. The LCD screen started to lose segments and act weird but I managed to remove the battery in time. I removed the battery and left the watch next to my laptop fan and started a game so the fans would blow hot air. After some time I popped the battery back in and everything works fine😅. So clearly I won't be putting this watch through water ever again, the strap is pretty old and I think I will replace it with a brown leather strap so it looks fancy because this is my only analog watch.
I really love the ability to have an lcd overlay. No backlight function sadly
