


Views from the Xining to Lhasa train, Tibet
The Xining to Lhasa railway travels for 1956 km across the northern part of the Tibetan High Plateau. It takes some 22 hours to travel by train between the two cities and the train reaches on altitude of over 5000 metres when travelling through the Tanggula Pass. To ensure the safety of passengers the train is equipped with oxygen outlets at every seat.
