Started as a simple cleanup so I had something to ride around on while working on other projects but the airbox decided to melt somewhere between now and 1987. New airbox isn't in the budget, but a pod filter is so I decided to raid the parts bin and get working on some items I had laying around. Fresh brakes, rebuilt clutch with new oem pads and 1500 springs all around and a shock from a ruckus I'll never use. New exhaust and coil are installed. Cleaning up the carb and running the cable for the head temp gauge is next. Then some ncy levers and the correct axle spacer to round the project out. Will need some variator tuning down the road. Max speed was 45 with the stock wheels, down to 40 with the metro wheels. Hoping to get back to the 45 mark.
