Whole House Filtration System (Softener & Filter) + Water Tank Recommendations

Hi, all - looking for advice on brands for the following:

We just bought a home, and the previous owners didn't really take care of the previous tank. I believe they were renovating the home and never lived in it and had to sell because of a job location change. There's quite a lot of sediment built up inside, which could effect the rest of the home over time. They did, however, recently re-pipe the place.

That being said, we live in an area with very hard water, which has been tested. We've had three different plumbers come to give quotes, and they've each recommended a whole house filtration + water heater. I know they need to make money, but after seeing him drain for two hours and sediment still come out, I know it's a bit of an issue.

Our plan is to start clean with a new heater we choose and properly maintain it. But because of our location, we think it's best to get a full house filtration / softener as well, both to protect piping and our own water health. Not a bad upselling point as well down the line.

I've seen Bradford White recommended a lot, but have no clue on the Carbon filter / Softener filtration system brand-wise. The plumber said they get there's from an OEM that makes them for lots of brands, and I'd probably trust that they're bringing in a good one, but again, I'd rather pick my own or see if that's possible.

Let me know any good brands (for both) and overall thoughts. I also have a countertop RO system inside for drinking. Thanks!

Flow Tech Question

Had a plumber come to check out our system in the new house and we do have some build up from the previous owners of calcium in the tank. The pressure is great and everything heats almost instantly, but we do have sentiment build up with chunks that are too large to be flushed out and the hot water starts to dwindle at around 15 minutes and even less to luke warm when someone else is using a shower.

He recommended installing a "Flow Tech" which would use radio pulses to effectively get rid of this and the entire house piping.

I'm new to learning about a lot of this, and he said it’d be a $4,250 install including everything but the figure seems rather high, but figured I'd ask the community if:

  1. If it’s worth it and this system makes sense or

  2. The best solution otherwise.

Thanks

First Ever Rack: How’d I do?

Here’s my first go at a home server for the house!

Setup:

- Dream Machine SE

- Flex Switch 2.5G PoE

- A7 Pro XG

- CyberPower 1500 UPS

- CableMatters Patch Pabel

- Beelink EQI12 Mini PC for HA

Things to Change:

- What do I do with that green/yellow grounding cable?

- Quickly realized I didn’t really need the CyberPower rack surge protector so the long cable for it is just sitting below lol

- Need a stand or 3D printed stand for the AP below

Lots of upgrades already in mind but figured I’d document my first server which is running very well so far.

I’m planning to add an NVR and a full-rack Switch at some point but any tips or recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks
