New idiom - Crocodile Therapy (n.)
When someone uses therapy performatively; not to genuinely improve, but to signal growth or remorse after wrongdoing in order to gain forgiveness.
Like “crocodile tears,” but instead of fake emotion, it’s fake self-improvement.
Example: After being caught cheating, he went to a few therapy sessions and kept bringing it up as proof he’d changed; classic crocodile therapy.
