2 Year Cost and Review

Took delivery just over 2 years ago and here’s a quick overview of spend:

2024 XLT Hybrid 2 year full spend: $35,765

**Build**

Options: copilot 360, engine block heater, and hitch

MSRP: $28,655+TTL roughly $31,500

**Taxes and Insurance**

Renew Registration: $440

Insurance: $1032 x 2 years

**Fuel and Maintenance**

14,000 miles average 36.7 MPG

Gas: roughly 380 gallons $1,150

(2) full synthetic oil changes+1 tire rotation $211

1 tire repair: $40

**Accessories**

Pivot side storage box: $40 (less rewards points)

Rolling soft bed cover: $150

Drop in rubber bed liner and floor mats: $140

Tailgate assist: $30

Annual costs so far with the math above have been $2,175 for maintenance, fuel, registration, and insurance. Only unexpected repair has been the hole in a tire.

Review: Exactly what I signed up for, not a luxury truck by any means but I’ve towed small trailers, and hauled 1000+ pounds of mulch, flooring, equipment, etc. well over 50 times. A few 1,000 mile round trip roadies and still very happy with the lifetime mileage.

I suppose I could count $150ish in pickup rentals/U-Haul in ownership costs for times I needed a bit bigger vehicle but still substantially better than owning a larger vehicle.

I have 2 car seats in the back and as my oldest gets older it’s getting a little tight but they’ve never complained.

We live in a heavy snow area but roads are usually plowed and I’ve had a lot less issues than I anticipated this being the first vehicle I’ve owned without 4WD.

Definitely hear some rattles but not as bad as what some have mentioned. Yesterday I had 37 bags of mulch in the back with my spouse and 2 kids.

If anyone on the fence has questions let me know, and if anyone who is past their 3-year factory warranty has advice let me know, I would like to get it looked at next spring before crossing that threshold.
