Driver of McLaren arrested after crashing near Toronto's historic Casa Loma
Of all the things they crashed into, it just HAD to be a Bikeshare station.
Also, notice that the news report ONLY focused on the destruction of the car itself.
$200,000 in property damage...for the CAR.
They called the Bikeshare Station (or what's left of it) a bike lane, then corrected themselves and called it a "bike rack", then it was never mentioned again.
Nothing about the destruction, the monetary cost of said destruction, nor the loss of function for that Bike Station necessary for Bikeshare to work as an infrastructure.
That Bike station is one of the few that is near George Brown College's Casa Loma campus' location. With that thing down, it's going to cause problems for students (or faculty members) who commute by Bike and lock up their bike at that station. They're going to rack up extra charges unnecessarily trying to find another Bikeshare Station to stop the timer renting out the bike.
It boils my blood that I'm reporting this (the Bike angle of the crash), and the "News Reporter" didn't.
