Just picked up my 6th Gold Buffalo from an LCS in Northern VA, but something feels off compared to my other five. (It’s the middle one in the picture).
We ran it through the Sigma at the shop and it passed, but when I got home and did a ping test, it’s noticeably higher pitched and rings longer than the others in my stack. Usually my Buffalos have more of that specific thud/low ring, but this sounds slightly off. It also has a tiny copper spot on the back. I know spots can happen on 24k, but combined with the weird ping, I’m starting to second guess it. Has anyone else had Buffalos from different years sound totally different? Or is it possible a fake could pass a Sigma but fail a ping test?
