[Hiring] Surface Pattern Designer for Luxury Apparel - Custom Plaid & Illustrative Print
I am seeking a skilled Surface Pattern Designer to develop a custom print for a bodycon mini dress for my label, Orbit and Beyond. The design is a "Cherry Plaid" concept: a structured orange plaid/grid base overlaid with an illustrative print of red and blue cherries.
Technical Specifications:
• Fabric Base: 180–220 GSM Modal-Spandex blend (90/10).
• Production Method: Reactive Digital Printing.
• Deliverables: High-resolution, seamless repeat file (AI or TIFF) with layers preserved.
• Aesthetic: "Soft Luxury" / Contemporary. The plaid must be precise, while the cherries should feel integrated and intentional, not like a basic clip-art overlay.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in designing for stretch knit fabrics (understanding how patterns behave on bodycon silhouettes is a must).
• Ability to create a perfectly seamless repeat that accounts for various garment sizes.
• Strong communication skills regarding color matching (Pantone) for digital textile output.
