Yellow mushroom with thick “roots”
Not sure if this is the fruit of flower pot fungus but there was definitely some in the bag. Come from a big bag of peat moss from a hardware store in Arizona. Curious if this is what is causing then black hard crust on the top of my pots. Thank you!

Peat turning black
Anyone know what causes this and if there is anything I should or can do about it? It’s very dry and very hard like brittle asphalt if that helps.
