ok so i’m only 20, never had a ps2 in my life and got this off of a whim at a garage sale for 50$. my quick research says that my scph 50001 is solid but im not paying for ps2 games. I see that i need a free mcboot card and i can buy that off amazon but I have 3 main questions:

i have an external hard drive with other games on it, could that be used on my ps2? how do the files need to be formatted to run on the ps2. i’m vaguely familiar with this process as i’ve cracked a wii.

do i need a separate memory card or does the free mcboot or external hold memory for me? sorry if this is a dumb question.

besides the obvious like San Andreas, MGS3 and SH2, RE4, etc. what are some good games to download for this ps2?
