Hi, so I got this old car from a friend who basically had it sitting idle at his home since 2018. He says I am free to use it however as it isn't much use to him but I am on a tight budget.

I have driven it and noticed there r quite a few touchups I need to do to get this car road worthy. So could anyone experienced help me out in understanding the price and other stuff I need to do to make sure it runs smoothly?

1. I noticed the engine oil was black (not fully but definately looks too old). And it was on its half mark. What is the recommended oil I get for this car? 10W-40? And which company plus cost?

2. The oil filter would definately need changing too, so which company & cost?

3. Not sure if the coolant level is low but I did open the radiator cover and it looked like tap water was there. So costs for this and a company coolant to use?

4. Wiper motor has an issue not fully turning (or is jammed) and wipers would need replacing too front & back. So cost of that?

5. The a.c was working but the cooling wasn't much like Im sure it should be cooling more even if its an old car. So where to get a trustworthy guy to look at it & fix it?

6. Interior and exterior r quite dirty. Like i need it properly cleaned and detailed. Like the roof and floor and seats etc.. So price for that and anyone good for it?

7. Ill need like basic floor mats and window covers so how much does that cost generally?

8. This is optional but if it falls in budget I would like it. Better sound system and maybe an LED screen? If not then atleast a device to connect to bluetooth? Becz i dont wanna hear the car moaning everyday.

Would like a total cost of these stuff & a recommended mechanic that would properly fix all these stuff.

Do also mention stuff I should check that I have missed. We did have a look at the tires & breaks and he said it looks fine. But I'll definately have a mechanic look at it.

Are there any fuel cards provided by aramco or pso or shell maybe even a bank card that would help top up points whenever I pay for fuel?

Either the points help me get a free car wash or a litre off petrol etc..? I remember PSO has such a card but I dont recall how it was done.

Does anyone do the same for their refueling?

Hi, this is relevant to a previous post I did for getting my santro's a.c repaired.

A mechanic has informed me (while fixing my tires) that my shocks r all worn out both front & back. Not surprised as I had this car sitting for quite a while. Also when there is a speed breaker of pothole the car jerks very much and makes sounds.

I wanted to know is there any trustworthy mechanic in lahore where I can get a better quote and understand my situation?

I am told brand new original korean shocks (front & back) r very hard to find and quite pricy (30k total). The alternative is kabli shocks (removed from used cars outside or repaired around 16k) imported from india, malaysia or japan but the mechanics r giving check warranty on that only.

Another mechanic on jail road quoted me that he will repair both my front shocks (within 6k) and the back shocks r disposable so repair is useless so he'll replace it (in 4k). Also he says if i take this way he will give a 1 year warranty on all 4 shocks.

Does anyone have experience in this and what do u recommend I do? Im a student so dont have much budget but want the repair to last a few years if i do so.

A friend is lending me a santro but he says the a.c isnt working. Haven't seen the car yet but any recommendations for mechanics who can fix a santro's a.c within budget?

All i know the car is pretty old like maybe 2006 model. Also do tell me what range am i looking at with an a.c repair.

Visiting Lahore for a month. Was planning to roam around the city in a car for easy transport but the cheapest I am getting is within 1lac for a car which seems out of budget for me. Are there any cheaper options available?
