Hello, I Don't understand horse racing.
I'm not to sure if this is the correct place to be asking so sorry if it's not.
I recently went to my first horse race afew weeks back with a group of my friends. I had a fun time and all my friends where betting on the races.
I was more curious in the actual side of horse racing was hoping someone could briefly explain to me what horse racing is?
do the jockeys just sign up to race? do they have to win a certain amount of races to enter another race? does winning or losing a race carry anything to it for the jockey/horses career? why are some races alot more important then others and are there different levels/divisions.
These may be dumb questions but I hope someone will answer as it really has peaked my interest and would like to have a better understanding thanks!
