what does dot product and cross product represent?
I take ap physics c mech and studying for the ap test, and something I've never really understood was dot product and cross product's purpose. I know like how to calculate them but I don't know what they represent
for cross product, like there's torque pointing up. Why is it pointing up? why do we have rockets to fly to the moon when we have torque instead?
for dot product, why do we need to know how similar the vectors are? like when you find the dot product of two vectors, they equal like for example 3 or something. 3 what? apples? bananas?
yeah uh someone help me and explain, explain like I'm 5 and try to use as few words as possible lol. use cars or fruits or a elmer's gluestick or whatever. sorry if this isn't like all the other physics major level stuff i see around here but like I just really want to know
