Hello everyone (felt the need to greet before starting lol)

For context my job does not use solidworks PDM, we use Mechworks/DBWorks. There has been talk about implementing PDM but it’s been an on/off project.

My issue is that because of this cad files take a long time to check in/out or even release. If another person and I are even changing a part number, we would have to wait till either one of us are done. My worst experience is working on a 1000+ component assembly and the assembly would either take half an hour to save or crash solidworks altogether.

Has anyone who worked with mechworks/DBworks also experienced this issue and if so do you have any tips on how to better navigate through this to prevent future crashes/issues?
