Resilience Fatigue
You don't impact a cyberculture without a little emotional labor.
Last Halloween I returned to Las Vegas to celebrate personal milestones in the Kasane Teto fandom that boosted my creative life. Along the way I wound up reviving TetoTube...but also navigating the latest flavor of the noise that had previously strangled that project.
By that point, however, I had already endured a number of betrayals, removals, and smears for standing by my creative values against the very communities I helped elevate.
Resilience can get exhausting.
But it got better.
Much better.
