So I'm currently going through all the various routes, getting all the unique recruits I can.

One thing that has bothered me a bit so far, is that oftentimes uniques become recruitable immediately following a fight in which they participate as a guest. This seems to make it so that they gain their share of fight XP right before joining. With fights rewarding stupid amounts of XP worth several levels at this point, this makes recruits join at much higher level than usual, in turn making it harder to control their stats growth (especially if they have access to exclusive classes).

For example, recruiting Ravness. The fight is synced to level 21, with Ravness herself meant to join at that level or so afterward. But with the XP gained, she shoots up to level 32 before I have a chance to switch her to WK for better growth.

I know it's not game-breaking, but it's annoying. In some earlier fights I could KO the guests myself since they teleport out and don't gain XP at the end that way, but with Ravness she has to survive the fight so she always ends up getting XP.

Is there something I can do to mitigate this? I was wondering why fights give so much XP in the first place, is it because my units are really level 45 and the game ignores level sync when it comes to XP? I could go and recruit legit level 21 units, but Denam will be 45 no matter what.

Edit: For the sake of anyone looking for a similar answer, bring a bunch of level 1 units to soak up their share of the XP. Brought six myself, one died, and that was enough to get Ravness at 21.

Finally finished my journey through PotD, emerged with a bunch of relics and a handful cursed weapons. Not sure how much time I want to invest in cursed weapons but I'm interested in making dark fists. I made Denam dark to mirror Catiua, and I'm enjoying fists with their generous finisher range, which let me pick up cards more easily.

From what I'm reading, the ideal sacrifice would be a Vartan, but it looks like I can't make them dark. In fact, I can't find classes that can be switched to dark except TKs and Warlocks, neither of which can produce cursed fists.

So is it possible at all to make cursed dark fists or should I pick a different element?
