Hi everyone, I’m new here and fairly new to writing publicly, so I thought I’d introduce myself properly.

I’ve recently started writing on Medium as a way of processing a lot of things I carried for years without really dealing with them.

I came from a violent background in my younger years, but looking back now, a lot of that came after earlier abuse and trauma that I never properly addressed at the time. For a long time I just thought that was life, thought it was normal, or thought I just had to get on with it.

It took me many years to finally accept that I needed therapy.

What started as trying to deal with a painful breakup ended up opening the door to a lot more. Therapy has helped me understand how old experiences shaped parts of my behaviour, reactions, relationships, and the way I carried myself as a man.

Writing has become a big part of that process for me. It helps me make sense of things, be honest, and hopefully put words to experiences other men might recognise in themselves too.

I’ve recently published a piece called Built Hard, Hurt Quiet. It’s about masculinity, trauma, and the things men often carry silently.

If anyone is interested, I’d appreciate a read.
