Hi - I'm in the market to buy in Chicago. I've seen a number of homes with renovations, either recent or older and have tried to search online to see if the work was done with permits. I haven't been able to find permits for these properties searching either Chicago or Cook County portals, and I don't know if that is because I'm on the wrong portal, or the work was never permitted in the first place. Can someone share the proper portals to look up permits for past renovations, and what the expectation should be if you can't find it?
