Focus Atlas 6.7 (Aluminium) vs Marin Nicasio 2 (Steel)
Hey there 👋
I'm looking at buying a bike which I can use for (in no particular order):
a) 50-80km day rides on the weekend with friends (some of which ride road bikes);
b) multi-day bikepacking trips including gravel/ light off road (with a different group of friends!); and
c) commuting around town.
I'm looking at the Focus Atlas 6.7 or the Marin Nicasio 2. I can test ride the focus in the city i live but not the Marin (can only buy it online).
Both bikes have carbon forks
Some folks suggest that the steel Marin will be more comfortable for the long bikepacking trips? But the Focus will be quick for weekend rides? I have a friend who has owned the Focus Atlas and swears by it as a great bike for what I am looking to do. Reviews on the Atlas seem good too.
