My LiDAx Ultra was out mowing when the rain suddenly rolled in. I got the notification saying the rain sensor kicked in and it was heading back to the station… except it absolutely wasn’t.

Instead, it just spun around in circles and wandered all over the yard like it had no clue where home was. Looked like the LiDAR/camera got completely confused by the heavy rain and kept trying to “avoid” it or something. It did that until the battery was basically dead.

Since the mower is still new, I didn’t want it struggling out there, so I ended up carrying it back to the station while getting soaked like an idiot.

Anyone else had this happen with the LiDAx Ultra 1000/2000 in the rain?

I have a Nova LiDARx Ultra 1000, and I’ve noticed a couple of things I’m not sure about. Hoping other owners can share their experience or tips.

1. When I select “All Area” mowing, it doesn’t do the edges. It just mows whatever zone you set, but skips the perimeter. Is that normal?

2. For the checkerboard mowing pattern, I’m not seeing an actual checkerboard result. Yes, I walked behind it to confirm the path. It looks more like a simple criss‑cross pattern instead of a true checkerboard. Is this expected behavior?

If anyone has advice or knows whether these are normal limitations, I’d appreciate the insight.
