Might be that time to say goodbye
Time to sell. Bills piled up that need to get paid off.
I posted before about a ‘11, 2nd Gen base model TSX with a cat issue. Won’t pass smog but drives great and would be ideal for someone who can replace the cat (2 pieces, sensors), smog it, and register.
Currently has 125k miles on odo & Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Tires (80% tread) on stock wheels that are chrome with some curb rash. New alternator & belt from RockAuto.
Color is forged silver (weird bluish silver metallic depending on what angle you look at) and body is in average condition because…I scrapped the passenger side read door/quarter panel coming out of a drive way.
This is cosmetic and if it were repaired would cost $3k at a body shop for parts & labor. $350 for door swap plus paint match if DIY. Doors in forged silver are apparently hard to find but plenty of doors from donor cars out there.
Went through online appraisal and Edmunds says $4,200 to $5,200 & KBB says $7,200.
To get the car running healthy, a transmission flush, spark plug change is recommended by the mechanic that looked over the car issue. That’s about $300.
I am thinking putting it up for $6500 and hoping the car finds a good home.
Are those decent or fair value numbers? I’m thinking I should not accept anything lower than $5k.
Feel free to comment or whatever.
