EP-136 KO Sidekick as a DJ mixer - my review
Before you make fun of me, I did not get this as my main mixer for gigs, most of the venues I have already have pioneer gear anyways. I got this to muck around with at home.
PROs
Effects are really fun, the whole thing is very intuitive to use, takes up no space at all, runs on 2 AAA batteries. It's also MIDI capable and will work with DJ apps on your phone (have not worked that out yet, probably have to pay for the app first) and it has a sound card so you can record sets.
CONs
Obviously no booth out, no XLR out etc, no cross fader, and it's not REALLY designed for DJing. My biggest issue with it is that it uses all 3.5mm jacks and they are all close together. No problem if you are just using thin patch cables but not if you get cables with thicker ends.
I don't regret the purchase I can make it work but thought I would share in case anyone else was wondering how it works for this purpose.
