Hi, I'm hoping to move away from using a laptop for DJing and I'm wondering if the XDJ-AZ is the right solution for me. I went from vinyl to Final Scratch 1+ to Ableton for the last 15 years. (no CDJs, no contemporary controller / library software) Now I want a DJ system that doesn't use a laptop, but I'm hoping it will still let me do most the things I'm used to. I don't care much about online connectivity, I try and always assume I won't have internet access.
- can I define numerous cue points and/or loops within a song and label them, and then save that data back to the FLAC file so I never have to do it again?
1b) how many loops and cue points can I define per track? Can all 8 of the pads beneath the jog wheel be a different loop / cue point? Is there quantization?
1c) And if so, is that data proprietary to this system or are there other similar models from other companies it will also be compatible with? Like can I take my USB stick over to a Denon Prime 4+ or Pioneer RX3 and have the cue points / loops available (assuming they have similar features)
if I have a track on deck 1, an instrumental on deck 2, and then want to bring in the vocals of the same song on deck 3, is it super easy to quickly load multiple tracks to get ready for the mix? Are you able to somehow link / associate the vocal / instrumental / acapella versions all together under the same track in the database?
can I see all 4 tracks active at once on the GUI? Don't often do 4-tracks-at-once, but sometimes.
is there an FX send? I don't see one, but I'm new to these, maybe there's some new way of handling it. Are the onboard fx customizable / upgradeable or static built-in like old mixers?
if a song isn't DJ friendly can I get in there and grid it like you do in Ableton to force it to the beat? (then save that gridding)
can it record the master output? (and can it do that if I'm playing tracks off a USB? I saw an RX3 video that said you can play from one USB slot and record to a 2nd)
does the software display / detect the key the song is in? I remember buying MixedInKey 1.0 waybackwhen
thank you!
