Currently VA is covered for me by multiple other permits I hold. However with all the tyrannical shit going on and the bill specifically addressing a review of existing reciprocity agreements, I decided to get the VA permit itself. I would suggest nonresidents strike while the irons hot before they revise the requirements (18 hr course, anyone?) and go to only recognizing VA permits.

As of writing, the requirements are still very simple (compared to other blue states) - FD-258 card and they accept hunter safety certificates or training certs similar to what Florida asks for. Timeline for me was less than 2 weeks to receive it in hand back from VSP once my packet was delivered, pleasantly surprised by how fast they were.
