Pre-tournament thoughts:

My expected opponents were Abyss+Haven/Lishenna.

Abysscraft is undoubtedly the strongest deck right now. However, in the current environment, Milteo, Midrange, and Evolution are all viable choices. The reason I chose Evolution is that it has stable winning methods against mainstream decks such as Haven, Sword and Portal. In contrast, both Milteo and Midrange are clearly disadvantaged against Bishop, while Evolution has a strong favorable matchup. Therefore, I ultimately decided to go with Evolution. (As for the Abyss mirror matchup, I won’t go into it separately. It’s truly 50/50, purely depending on skill.)

As for Dirt, I know this deck is almost the weakest in the current environment. Honestly, I only reached CR1446 two days before the tournament. But I decided to trust it anyway. At least it has one good matchup — Haven. The combination of Evolution + Dirt is perfect for punishing players who bring Haven. I also want to thank jiean/深紅蘭 for practicing with me before the tournament and giving me deck-building advice.

Every match my opponent can watch my CR is so low =[

During the tournament:

Overall, things went quite smoothly. At least I didn’t run into many bricky hands. The Haven matchup I was expecting to face a lot only appeared once, but I was able to convert it into a solid win. As for Sword, Dirt is originally a heavily disadvantaged matchup, but fortunately I managed to win those games as well.

Summary:

I was very lucky to advance to Day 2. After this, I’ll just wait for the June update before deciding on my decks again. Of course, I’ll also work on pushing my Rune CR higher, even though it’s going to be very difficult.

Thank you for reading all the way here. I also hope everyone can climb the ranks smoothly from now on. If you have any questions about the decks, feel free to leave a comment. I’ll reply as soon as I see it.
