Do humans use blood to run every piece of machinery?
So, I've been trying to figure out more stuff about the end of the final war and the new peace. There is a lot of evidence that blood is used a lot, even after the war. An example of this are the elevator panels in 8-2 and 8-3, as well as the computers in the same levels. There is also a mention of how blood was donated by people on the 15H-KUR to get the navigation system running. Could that imply that all energy that humans use comes from blood?
Every light bulb you encounter, every car you see, every piece of machinery might be powered by blood. That can't possibly be true, right? It is true that humans have something of a blood factory that is the entirety of prelude, but still that would be very inefficient.
There are implications of other sources of energy such as heat weapons or electric weapons, why can't those be repurposed for use in the new peace? The description of the electric railcannon outright states that it is an industrial portable generator, that was repurposed as a weapon. There is also no description of how the railcannon generates said energy, which would be interesting to know. Earthmovers also used solar energy, which is very impressive given the fact that they must require a lot of energy. I wonder why solar energy didn't replace blood during the new peace.
I don't have a concrete explanation for all of this, just some thoughts and observations. One thing that might be true, is that blood is used exclusively for programmable devices. Think of anything that would have a microchip or a processor in real life. There is no concrete evidence for this, besides the smile OS slide which might somewhat imply that. Maybe humans know how to use blood based chips, but have no idea how to do something similar with electricity. So computers and TVs would use blood, but lights and heaters could use electricity, that is acquired from a power plant or something. This theory is completely baseless and it doesn't sound particularly satisfying, but that's what I've been thinking.
Also, there is a factor of habbit in this. Humans used blood for 200 years during the war, and then some after it ended. Maybe some people are reluctant to switch to other sources of energy, the same way some especially stubborn people keep pushing for fossil fuels in real life.
I really don't know what to think of this, but I really want to understand why they would use blood, instead of using other available alternatives. I apologize if I'm a fucking moron and I thank you for any theories or explanations you might have.
