Blessed by the motorcycle gods and got a 1985 VF700S. How do I go about fixing the old sticker imprint backed in for 40 years?

Not sure if there is a chemical product or if I just have to sand it off and repaint. There are other paint issues as well and some decal degradation.

Any input is appreciated.
