Booking XEV 9S, Dealer quote & negotiation scope
Hi Folks,
Above are the quotes I’ve got from my local Mahindra dealer (Thane, Maharashtra) for XEV 9S & 9E. We’re inclined towards the 9S Pack2 79kWh, and likely to book it in the coming days. Before that, I want to work out a few final details and see if there’s any scope to negotiate.
Essential Costs (Blue Highlighted in Dealer Sheet)
• These are mandatory and have very little scope for negotiation as far as I understand.
• Forms the base total that you can’t really avoid.
Optional / Add Ons
This is where the dealer has added extras, and where negotiation or opting out is possible:
• Insurance: Dealer agreed to match outside insurance quote. I’m leaning towards outside insurance unless inclusions match exactly.
• Essential Accessories: Dealer provided.
• Charger: Dealer quote includes it, but I might skip and go aftermarket (Statiq or other brands). Would love to hear thoughts on this.
Grand Total
• The dealer’s sheet was messy, so I tried to simplify it.
• Blue = unavoidable.
• Rest = optional, can be sourced outside.
• The grand total is what you actually end up paying depending on which optional items you accept.
Ask
• Based on the quote, do you see any scope to negotiate further?
• Any strong reason to stick with dealer insurance vs outside?
• Is skipping the dealer charger and going aftermarket a good idea?
P.S. Sorry if the Excel looks complicated, trust me, I simplified it compared to what the dealer gave me (that one made me want to rip my hair out).
Any clarifications needed, let me know and I’ll edit the post.
OC.
Edit: 10 May, old car deal is done with the same dealer. Booked XEV 9S pack 2 above 79kwh.
