How to open an online account
Can someone tell me how to open an online Fidelity account for investing? A few months ago, I opened a brokerage account with another brokerage firm with a financial advisor that came recommended. So far so good. However, I would like to know if I could open another brokerage account with Fidelity to try to learn to manage a portfolio and possibly save that advisor's fee should I learn how to manage on my own. I would probably copy what was invested by the advisor thus far (which is in S&P) and possibly buy a few stocks. I'm thinking to start with a small amount of $5,000 just to try and get the hang of things. I'm choosing Fidelity because there is one near where I reside and I figure it'll be convenient to have it nearby should I have issues. Thoughts?
