Hi all! I have a 1988 3.2 Carrera cabriolet and I've been troubleshooting some electrical issues all week. I'm trying to figure out if my wiring has been modified from stock and would really appreciate if someone with a similar spec car to mine (specifically 1988, US spec, preferably a cabrio but coupe/targa ok) could do a sanity check for me?
If you remove your dash mounted headlight switch, there are a bunch of wires connected to a bunch of terminals mounted on the back of the switch, and those terminals are numbered. What I'm trying to check is if anyone has a yellow wire going to terminal 56? This is in addition to a white wire with the black stripe (there should be two spots for wires at 56).
I ask because this 1988 wiring diagram suggests that it should be there, but on my car it is not. But in any photos I've found online of anyone else's 1988 switch, I have not been able to see any evidence that the yellow wire is there on their car either. So I'm trying to figure out if the yellow wire is missing on my car because my wiring has been messed with, or if the wiring diagram doesn't apply fully to my car (this can happen depending on spec, USA vs RoW, etc) and my problem is somewhere else.
