Sharing a concise version of my journey in case it helps others preparing or responding to a NOID.
---
### Timeline
- I-140 filed with premium processing
- NOID #1 (Day 15)
- Responded
- NOID #2 (Day 13 after response)
- Responded again (more targeted)
- Status stayed “response received” ~10 days
- Switched to “case still being processed”
- Approved on Day 12 after NOID #2 response
---
### Criteria USCIS accepted
- Judging / reviewing work of others
- Authorship/publications
- Leading/critical roles
Did not accept Original contributions and High Salary jn NOID 1
---
### Key issues raised
- Whether contributions rise to “major significance”
- Whether compensation is high relative to the field
- Clarity and consistency of the field of expertise
---
### What strengthened the case
- Consistent field definition across all evidence
Avoid mixing broad domains with sub-areas; keep one clear field throughout.
- Objective evidence of impact beyond a single employer
Examples that help: adoption/implementation by others, external recognition, or other independent validation.
- Targeted NOID responses
Address exactly what USCIS questions. Keep it structured and evidence-backed rather than repeating the entire petition.
- Expert letters with specifics
Letters that explain what you did, why it matters to the field, and how the writer knows this are more persuasive than general praise.
---
### Practical tips
- Map each claim to documentary proof (don’t rely on assertions).
- Use clear, non-technical explanations for complex work.
- Keep terminology and titles consistent across forms, letters, and exhibits.
- Organize exhibits so an officer can verify points quickly.
- In responses, prioritize clarity over volume.
