I’m pretty new to Whatnot and wanted to share my experience so far and get some feedback.

My first purchase ever on the app was an American Silver Eagle from an established and well known seller. I received the package this week and it was completely empty. The package was sealed when it arrived but had no receipt, no packing slip, no coin, nothing.

I messaged the seller and opened a case with Whatnot support. The seller hasn’t even responded, even though they were actively running a live show later that same day.

On top of that, I have another order from a different seller (two 5oz copper rounds purchased on 4/27). A shipping label was created, but it still hasn’t been scanned or shipped. I reached out and got a vague response about them thinking their wife mailed it, but no update since.

So now I’m sitting here like:

• First order = empty package
• Second order = not shipped + no communication

I get that small sellers are common on Whatnot, but this feels like a rough introduction to the platform.

For those of you with more experience:

• Is this just bad luck, or is this kind of thing common?
• How long do you usually wait before requesting a cancellation on unshipped orders?
• Have you had good experiences overall once you find the right sellers?

Appreciate any insight. Trying to figure out if I should stick with Whatnot or just go back to eBay.
