So, I started going to the gym about 3 weeks ago. I got a routine down that I like more or less, Monday, Wednesday and Friday are strength training days while Tuesday and Thursday are for cardio. this week I decided that I'd start walking to and from the gym which is about 0.7 miles and takes me about 15 minutes. I also decided that I would start by doing 30 minutes on the recumbent bike every day. My job has me on my feet walking easily about 8000 steps everyday and intermittently doing physical labor.

the whole point of doing this was to help me lose weight, so I've also been eating a lot healthier, my diet mostly has been fresh veggies, boiled eggs, half a chicken breast per day and various sources of dairy for fats. I make sure to pack my meals with lots of protein and fiber as best I can from plant based products and generally speaking I'm very happy with the different recipes I've tried out.

The problem is, today I'm feeling exhausted and extra sore, and I think I may have pushed a little too hard for someone who is overweight and hasn't gone to the gym or really been super active in years. I feel kinda bad about skipping the gym this morning but I didn't sleep well and I just want to get opinions on if I'm overdoing it. If I am, what are some ways to improve my routine.
