I’ve been interviewing at this tech company for the last 2 weeks. They moved me quickly through the process and after my 3rd round panel (last Wednesday), told me the next stage was either an offer or a convo with the CEO and I would hear back by Friday or Monday.
On Monday they told me there was someone new they’d like me to speak with for a coffee chat. A manager of a similar team who was visiting from another city. That chat was yesterday (Wednesday)and was scheduled for 30m, however we ended up going for close to an hour, and I thought it went very well. I sent my thank you email and she responded saying she enjoyed getting to know and what I’m looking for, and to stay in touch.
Later Wednesday afternoon they posted the job brand new on LinkedIn. Not a repost, a brand new post. Then today (Thursday) I get an email from the hiring manager thanking me for my time and that they enjoyed getting to know me, but that they’re continuing the process for the next two weeks and will know next steps in two weeks.
What could’ve possibly happened here? The only red flag I got during the process was that I had job hopped a bit, but was able to dispel that because my job hopping was due to acquisitions and a layoff. The department head said they wouldn’t hold of against me (maybe they changed their mind?)
I was really confident about this role and got a lot of positive signals. I’m trying to wrap my head around what happened here and how I’m supposed to move forward.
