I see her

The flower blooms

I come home from work
She was waiting to welcome me home
We eat and chat
We turn on the tv and hold the other
No better way

Her hand caressing my head
I look down to gaze in awe
At the beauty she radiates from within
She gazes back at me
The whole of creation resides in her eyes
I close my eyes
I open them again
Suddenly I’m hit
By the speeding train of reality
My eyes now see
A beautiful young woman
One I’ve never met
On a screen in my hand
Living a life
A world away
So I just hit ‘like’
And put the screen away
The train flies past
I can’t keep up
The weight of my loneliness
Crushes me once more
I cry
