There's an interaction I wanted to check, if I use [[Final Showdown]] paying the first spree cost to make all creatures lose all abilities till end of turn in response to something like a [[Balan, Wandering Knight]] using it's activated ability to attach all equipment. Would that ability still resolve as normal and attach all equipment to balan?

So stack would be from bottom to top - 1. Balan activated ability | 2. Final Showdown removing abilities from all creatures

So I was just wondering after reading the final ability of [[Talon Gates of Madara]] which reads [pay 4 generic]: Put this card from your hand onto the battlefield.
And when it enters, up to 1 target creature phases out.

Would this mean that if my opponent controls a [[Grand Abolisher]] this effect could still be activated and could even phase out the Grand Abolisher to allow spells to be cast and abilities to be activated from Creatures, Enchantments, and Artifacts again?

Also for the sake of targeting, I understand that Hexproof would prevent me from targeting a creature with Talon Gate's ETB trigger, but outside of "Protection from Everything", there's no form of protection that could prevent this phase effect right? Since the land doesn't have a colour identity, nor is it an instant or sorcery, nor is it an activated ability etc.

I had a game where I was helping a friend get into MTG over Tabletop Sim, he's playing an Izzet Otter deck that he netdecked, at one point he played [[Epic Experiment]] and one of the cards exiled [[Grab the Prize]] and another was [[See Double]]

We were a little unsure of this interaction since I dont typically play effects like this. We assumed that since Epic Experiment says "Cast without paying their mana costs", an additional cost such as discard would not be ignored and must still be paid. Is there any scenario when casting "for free" when you wouldn't need to pay an additional cost outside of X always being 0 if a spell is cast that way?

In addition, he also targeted Grab the Prize with See Double to copy it. I am aware that copying a spell onto the stack doesn't count as casting, so I assume you wouldn't have to pay the additional cost again.

We resolved this as he discarded 1 card and ended up drawing 4 cards, with a storm count of 3 after the Epic Experiment, first instance of Grab the Prize, and See Double resolved. Is this all correct or?
