After getting wildly different quotes for some building work and having no idea what was reasonable, I ended up going down a rabbit hole researching what tradespeople actually charge per day across different parts of the UK.
Turned out the data was pretty hard to find in one place. Most results are buried in blog posts or outdated figures from a few years ago. So I built a simple reference tool that shows current day rates and hourly rates for 15 trades across UK regions.
