Hi Guys!
Long story short, I’ve got this older Samsung Q800b sound bar which after few years, started going into this „update” loop. I’ve moved it to try and use it as a pc sound system. It works for about 10seconds over Bluetooth and then just disconnects and does exactly what you see on the video. I tried plugging it through optical audio cable while WiFi and BT are disabled to see if it’s the WiFi/BT module that’s causing this. No luck; It would simply show digital input but not play any sound and restart after about 30sec. Even factory reset (+\-)doesn’t do anything, it turns on, and after about 30 seconds says something about update then turns off. I tried manual update through USB and it just gives me a message „latest version” or something along those lines. Cannot connect it to Samsung app as it doesn’t stay on for long enough. Turning off microphone also doesn’t help.
So I tried looking for posts that show similar but anything that comes back indicates that it’s probably an update issue that has bricked the device.
Now my question is, before I give up and get rid of it, is there anything else I can do with it? Any other way of trying to resus it? Any way to turn it into a simple wired speaker? What’s your verdict?.
