Why is this the status quo? Ive heard the family argument more times than I can count. I've heard fellow Chiefs compared to the Creepy Uncle or Aunt ‘wrestling’ with the nieces and nephews. I've heard the drunk family member stories to cover up for a fellow Chief. I've even had a Chief use the they are just narcissistic and abusive to others because that is how they were raised. My question is why have we not normalized correcting and documenting those negative behaviors? Why have we as Chiefs normalized those ‘outlayers’ across the fleet? It's not normal to transfer a Sailor off the ship because a Chief has stalker tendencies. It's not normal to pick up a Chief from Jail then discuss actively covering it up because ‘they are going through a phase’ and we need their NEC for deployment.
