It’s not that Devil Dinosaur isn’t cool but…
But when you have someone as iconic as cyclops in a time where Tank mains feel neglected this kind of disappointment from the Vanguards is easily predictable. I wouldn’t mind Devil Dinosaur if he had came out alongside any past hero. But the fact is that Most Tanks saw him as a consolation prize. And although it isn’t actually confirmed as Cyclops not being a tank… the reality is we all know he can and (may) fit better as a DPS.
Look at all the recent changes and how the game works.
Angela reworks
no changes to rogue even though she’s C tier outside Gambit teamup.
Heavy poke meta so the skill ceiling is higher for off tanks.
Supports and Duelists (rightfully sometimes tbh) calling for Shield tanks because they are the most consistent and do the most consistent damage.
The problem isn’t This character, the issue is that tanking gets stale at times and we need something to freshen up the role. Don’t get me wrong. I’m Lord Thor, Rogue, Angela, Groot, Strange, Magneto, Emma and Deadpool. I can play these characters well, but imo Angela, Thor, and Rogue are the only ones that are still genuinely fun. Yea they have their counters and that’s annoying but the game IS counter swapping. Point being, we need more shields so we can be reliable in a poke heavy game.
Also, I’m not saying poke is meta, tbh dive IS meta if you have a good team. Reality is that dive takes coordination AND mechanical skill whereas Poke takes mechanical skill and requires less coordination overall in an average game. Meaning I can mute my game, go hela and rock out the Baby Keem or something.
