A bit a context. I am renting a home that has a water softener installed, but not plugged in and the reservoir is empty. I have gotten permission to turn it on, but the only thing I know about water softeners is that I need to buy bags of salt for the reservoir, and I would like to not brick their system by turning it on incorrectly. I just need a little guidance on how to do so, unless it's as simple as plugging the cord in and I am over thinking it, but I would rather err on the side of safety.
