For the last couple years, I’ve been riding a 2016 Giant Defy Aluxx with shimano 105, gossamer fsa crankset, and the same pr-2 wheelset it came with. After two years of taking it seriously, several big rides and races, and putting in 200mi+ weekly at a pretty respectable pace, I’m getting interested in dropping some money into hardware. Am I better off just buying/building a whole new bike or upgrading specific components? If the latter, where should I start? I make decent money, but not looking to spend more than $1250-1500 (2k absolute max) at this time. I’m also open to saving for another few months if that would be worthwhile, but I am riding the DALMAC 4-day West in September so I’d like to feel good on the new setup by then. Any and all advice is appreciated!
