Hi everyone, I have recently switched to Linux mint from Windows 10/11

I have an issue though in the fact that many websites come up as having an insecure connection for example poki.com, protonvpn.com etc etc

I'm trying to install a VPN so I can get around my schools firewall which is incredibly intrusive and I've tried the built in firefox VPN but it equally says it is unable to connect to it.

My school wants to install the certificates for the wifi on my laptop but I don't know what that will do

Can anyone suggest anything to help me? I followed everything on https://www.dotlinux.net/blog/firefox-on-linux-your-connection-is-not-secure/#3-troubleshooting-steps and nothing has worked as of yet
