Day trade or swing trade ?

Looking for some honest input. I’ve been day trading for a couple of years now and I do well when I open and close positions the same day and go home in all cash.
The issue is that every once in a while I spot what looks like a great opportunity, go all-in on a stock, sell covered calls against it, and end up stuck holding for months. Sometimes those swing trades pay off nicely, sometimes they tie up my capital forever.
For context: I’ve beaten the S&P the past couple years, so I’m not losing money — I’m just torn on which approach to commit to.
My question for those who’ve been at this longer: where’s the real money for most retail traders — strictly day trading, or swing trading? Or some mix?
Appreciate any perspectives.

Who is holding SSO longterm ?

I am personally holding 5000 qty , bought recently earlier this month at $64. Planning to DCA if it ever dips 25% from ATH.

I am planning to sell naked puts on SSO to DCA at strike price 25% below current price. Pick 45 Days to expire. The premium is not much and only about $0.50 cents and SSO options are not so liquid. Anyone does anything similar ?

Will DCA if it drops 25% from most recent ATH. Will buy 1000 qty each time it dips 25%. Thats the plan. I need the money in 10 years, not anytime soon.
