Here are the credits I completed in my last term. I stayed with the traditional track for the BSIT because I understood more about web development than agile or python and it turned out to be a great choice for me.
For context I’m 29M I work full time, no kids & WGU landed me my first tech role just a lil over a year ago. So I have 1 yr experience and now a completed bachelors degree. Simply studying for the material created a level of knowledge I didn’t know I could unlock. A level of drive that at times didn’t seem like it was mine, when I was tired I pushed through, took OA’s sick and made it through with a passing score on many occasions. WGU has given me the opportunity to explore more jobs that would’ve been out of my reach without having to do 20 projects to show experience.
The game plan was simple but execution was crucial. I first started by earning security+ in 2024 which landed me my first role as well as studying for A+ in 2025. I transferred in credits from community college as well as credits from study . Com it took me 5 months of independent work for this. The papers were actually pretty intense and were similar to WGU which helped me at the school as well.
After this I completed as many entry level certifications I could to transfer in. I completed A+ , Net+ , ITIL , AWS CCP in a span of 6 months. Lastly, I studied the material from my first 4 classes to get an idea of how difficult it would be & I ranked my classes from easiest to hardest from reddit & my personal knowledge and made sure my first 4 classes were easy for me so my term was technically complete in 1 month check my dates on the photo. Then I subsequently ordered my classes OA PA to relieve test anxiety in between each class. Also my mentor opened both classes so I was able to study for a OA but I had the ability to technically be completed all 3 assignments of an next PA class before submitting to mentally be ahead of schedule and the rest is history.
I plan to denounce the msit portion and move to cyber for my masters later this year.
