Bizarre power cycling issue on desktop? (I promise this is Spotify related)
Yeah, I don't know either. Lately I've been having seemingly random power cycles occurring on my Windows 10 desktop PC. I thought maybe it was a failing or overworked power supply (upgraded my GPU to a 5070 Ti last year and I'm using a 750w PSU). But, the issue never occurs when I'm actually doing hardware-intensive things like games, video editing, or music production. I often leave my PC on most of the time when I'm not at it and, while there have been a few isolated power cycles when idle, I've started noticing that the one seemingly consistent action I do before a crash occurs is letting Spotify play on my computer. I often let music play from my computer while working on other hobbies and every single time recently I have let my PC idle with Spotify running, it has eventually crashed. Previously it would just immediately black screen and restart, but just now it gave me the first blue screen I've seen from this weird situation. I wasn't fast enough to take note of what error I got specifically, but either way I am very confused by this. Even stranger, if I listen to Spotify while using my computer it will not crash. I can play games and listen to Spotify for hours without issue. It's only when Spotify is playing while my computer idles where this issue presents.
Has anyone else here experienced this? Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this to happen? I'm probably just gonna let Spotify play from my phone connected to my sound bar. It'll work, but it's a bit annoying because my PC speakers are way better than my sound bar. If anyone has experienced this or knows what's going on, please let me know. I feel like I'm insane because of how odd this is.
