Hi everyone,

I’m a freshman electrical engineering major who landed an internship as a software engineer this summer at a medium sized company. Initially, the position I interviewed for was a mix of web app development + embedded. I was happy with this and thought I could gain exposure to at least one side of the stack that interested me. Now, I was informed (4 weeks out) that my work would be purely software focused. I’m now disappointed and kind of worried that this internship in generic SWE stuff would be a dud and not beneficial for my resume. My long term goals are embedded positions so I was wondering if this experience is still valuable + how I can potentially still get something out of it.
