Hi all,

I know someone posed a similar thread today. I am brand-new to the world of minis. I just joined a D&D campaign a few months ago, and while I feel OK still commissioning resin prints bc the cleanup and fumes seem too much for my current space, this subreddit gives me hope for mini printing. I am mostly looking into printing things like tents, crates, dice towers, etc. I know for larger items that filament printing is the way to go. I saw in another thread that some printers are better for precision, others have the benefit of being covered, etc. I have an intermediate-range budget so I don't need a rock bottom cheap one. I want something that can last me years. I have an air purifier and no fluffy pets. My questions are:

  • Which one is the best to get started?
  • Should I buy an uncovered one and just buy a tent for it to keep the components dust free?
  • Which brands are known for their reliability/durability? Are some easier than others to disassemble/clean?
  • Does printer-included software really make a difference?
  • What about YOUR 3D printer you use?
  • What are the pros and cons for it, and would you recommend it?

Thank you!
- Cyan
