Hello. I am a 29y/o male. UK
I have had no obvious changes in bowel movements recently apart from maybe a bit more constipation but I have always suffered from constipation amd diarrhea on and off my whole life, it is nothing new on my end. I haven't ever had any noticeable amount of blood on my poo, or on the tissue when wiping.
The only time ive ever noticed blood on the tissue is if I have done a lot of wiping and my hole is a bit sore and is bleeding externally. But only very small amounts.
In terms of mucus. If I get bad guts or diarrhea ill poo out mucus only sometimes but again. Never a large amount when normally pooping. Just a small amount on tissue when I wipe etc.
I have been suffering with acid reflux for years and the doctor asked me to do a QFIT test on my stool which returned a positive QFIT score of 41. With 10 being the max normal range. Not massively high. Not great either.
I was called in to see the doctor urgently to discuss this further and attended the GP the next day.
On inspection the Doctor found a hemaroid and sometimes when I poop if its a larger poop I can feel the poo rubbing on the hemaroid and I get a sharp scratch sensation as it comes out.
The doctor told me that the hemaroid could be 1 possibility for the blood but also she cannot rule out any other reasons for the blood at this time and has put me on the 2ww referral for a colonoscopy.
Now im on the NHS 'Cancer Pathway' and im just going around in circles I my head, wondering if it is cancer or not. And what im going to do.
I cant get it out of my head and I have had health anxiety my whole life.
Please help
UPDATE I'd also like to add in that the Doc checked my stomach and all was soft and fine and ive not had any pains or anything like that. Just maybe a bit of bloating feeling when constipated. But again, for me that's nothing new.
I've not lost any weight or had a loss of appetite either. If anything, the last year or so I think I've put on about a stone in weight due to lack of exercise.
